This service area involves detailed (cell-by-cell) review of financial models and is required for pricing, valuation or statutory purposes. Independent third-party financial model review is currently a pre-requisite for various financial transactions; however under the situation where model review is not a pre-requisite, financial model review could serve as an internal risk management procedure (operational risks management) that have the benefits of:
- An independent model review for the methodology adopted can ensure the results output from the model are reliable and correct;
- The reviewed financial model is functional and can produce reliable results for different scenarios, in particular the results from the best case and worst case scenarios which provide valuable insights in making business decisions; and
- The assumptions and methodology reflected the reviewed financial model will be listed in the due diligence documents in detail.
